Gizmodigit recently reported on Apple’s somewhat disappointing Back to School promotion this year which gave new Mac buyers a $100 gift card redeemable in the iTunes, Mac App and iBook store as a “bonus” for purchasing. Paling in comparison to Apple’s previous offerings the last few years (typically an iPod) the gift card doesn’t quite have the draw that previous promotions had. This integration first began in Skype’s previous version, 5.0, last year, but has now evolved beyond simply updating statuses and seeing friend’s news feeds. Users will now be able to do the majority of their Facebook activity through the VoIP client.
