LauncherPro has released a new mobile music app for Android that is sure to please. Fredrico Carnales, the developer for the company, has recently release the new app ‘UberMusic’ and has made the software available as a beta download.
Earlier builds of the software were designed to copy the look and feel of the Zune music player, but this latest released has changed the look and added additional features. Behind the new user interface is a brand new skinning engine, which will allow 3rd party developers to create skins for the software. Notes in the change log for the software mention that the new skinning engine is flexible enough to replace the new look with that of the old, for users who preferred the previous versions theme.
The software has also been changed to disabled the locking screen whenever music is playing. However, the author mentions that there may still be some problems with this feature. But hey, that’s why it’s called a beta version.
The app downloads the artist, album info and graphics, that really makes the application look and feel great. Users can also use the app to change their backgrounds on their devices to match album art of the artist that is currently playing.
The software comes with a home screen widget, so you can mess around with your music without loading the full program. The program can also interact with last.fm, and includes advanced headphone settings for music customization.
UberMusic weighs in at a tiny 1 megabyte, and for that it is a very worthy music player. The current beta is set to expire on July 15th.
