In a blog post on the Windows Steam blog, Microsoft unveiled new features and improvements, made to their Hotmail email service provider, to upraise the currently-low standard of Hotmail.

Hotmail Update

Hotmail Update

It’s no secret that Hotmail has some issues that need addressing, such as the difficulty in navigating, lack of keyboard shortcuts and slow speeds.

The new update includes the addition of keyboard shortcuts and a refreshed menu which allows right click facility that provides touch-and-go functions like: “Delete,” Junk,” and “View Message Source”. In addition, Microsoft also solved it’s notorious “Back” command issue…in the event a user accidentally presses the Back key, they will have the ability to recover their work from the “Deleted” folder. Check Video for better understanding:

Hotmail also addressed the slow-speed issue, implementing HTML5 to reduce loading time and speed up general functions. Messenger contacts list (like Gmail) now appeared in the sidebar and just below it a Calendar has been included. Users can also personalized “their” Hotmail by setting their own default font and create a custom signatures for their email messages.
