We first got a taste of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 when it was announced at IFA in Berlin earlier this month, but since then details of the new Samsung tablet have been few and far between. Today marks a significant step in the process of getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 ready for release into the market, with the much anticipated new 7.7″ version of the Galaxy Tab today clearing the FCC.
Whilst a definite release date has yet be announced, seeing the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 passing through the FCC is a definite indication that Samsung are aiming to launch the new version at some point in the very near future. Samsung have already begun sending out invitations to their next ‘Samsung Mobile Unpacked‘ event, to be held on the 11th of October and to coincide with the beginning of the CTIA Enterprise and Applications conference in San Diego, California, which runs from the 11th to the 13th of October. We’ve already speculated as to what Samsung might be announcing at this event, and the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is just one of the many possibilities.
For those of you who’ve not seen what Samsung are packing into the Galaxy Tab 7.7, here is a quick rundown on it’s main features:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (GT-P6810) Specs :
- 7.7 Inch Super AMOLED Plus display With 1280 x 800 resolution
- 1.4 GHz dual-core Samsung CPU
- 1GB RAM
- Rear 3MP camera, front 2MP
- 16GB and 32GB internal storage models
Samsung have also designed the Galaxy Tab 7.7 with nice, clean lines. The device is stylish, portable, and powerful – three essential qualities of any tablet worth mentioning. At this point we can’t confirm a release date or any official pricing, but with the FCC stage completed it definitely won’t be long until we know more. Anyone else think that Samsung may announce a release date for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 at their mobile Unpacked event on Ocotber 11th?
