With Android 3.1 Honeycomb onboard combined with the Samsung Touch Wiz for tablets user interface, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 delivers an outstanding user experience for even the most fussy tablet user. The display is an attractive 8.9″ screen with a resolution of 1200 x 800p, and under the hood the Galaxy Tab 8.9 runs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU with 1GB RAM. Available in both a 16GB and 32GB version the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is bound to be a very popular tablet once released on October 2nd, with the 16GB priced at $469 and the 32GB priced at $569.
Samsung have also released official pricing and a retail launch date for the new stars of their media player lineup, the Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 . These two new Android powered media players land firmly in iPod Touch territory when they hit retails markets on the 16th of October, and at prices that will make Apple stand up and take notice. The Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 will be priced at $229, with the Galaxy Player 5.0 priced at $269. Both devices will be running Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread with full Google services and Android Market support, will be powered by a single-core 1GHz CPU, and come with 8 GB of internal storage. The 4″ model of the Galaxy player will be less battery hungry, but then it comes with a 1200 mAh battery and so will not have as much battery power available to it.

The Galaxy Players will definitely generate interest, and we will watch them media player market closely over the coming months to determine if Samsung have been able to gain any of Apple’s market share.
