In an announcement that has caused a stir in the telecommunications industry, Verizon have today confirmed reports that they will not be carrying the Samsung Galaxy S II when it is officially launched in the US on August 29th.  The Wall Street journal was the first to break this story, which was then confirmed by Verizon through spokesperson Brenda Raney.
